About Banana Coliving
WOO!FOR A COOL LIVING
2012
It all started with a small hostel
We love traveling and we love chatting, so we opened our very first small hostel, BANANA HOSTEL CUTE. We hoped to let foreign friends visiting Taiwan feel our local hospitality. We always felt that "staying" somewhere shouldn't just be about sleeping and taking a shower. As for why we called it "Banana", it was simply because we thought it was easy to remember.

The Birth of Dongmen Hostel
BANANA HOSTEL COOL was born. We met friends from all over the world. Those everyday moments of drinking, chatting, and making banana cakes together, the mascot doll named Mr. Ugly, the thank-you sticky notes left by roommates when they departed... all of this gave the act of "staying" a lot more warmth.

First Attempt at Co-living
More and more foreign travelers shared with us their struggles in finding short-term rentals. Through a series of coincidences, we took over and renovated a youth hostel. Thus, the first experimental co-living space, Zhongshan, was born.

2017-Now
Expanding the Co-living Footprint
From the East District, Ximen, No. 5, Junior, Grin, Amber to Hue, we polished and renovated them one by one. We also brought the co-living concept to Tainan, creating the serviced apartment—Guanghe Yishe. Now, we have over 10 locations across Taipei and Tainan, with each place retaining a distinct style, rhythm, and sense of everyday life.

More than just living together,
we also play together
Space is just the beginning; relationships are what matter.
We organize a diverse array of colorful activities, hoping that roommates are not just nodding acquaintances, but become great companions who share life together.
Living at Banana, you don't necessarily need to be highly sociable,
but you will know: you are not alone.
